Due to the impossibility of closing doors casually during a fire, fire doors must be automatically closed and equipped with automatic door closers.
1. Due to the impossibility of closing doors casually during a fire, fire doors must be automatically closed and equipped with automatic door closers. At present, automatic door closers are divided into two types: oil pressure and spring type. The former has a buffer oil pump to slowly close the door. The ones commonly used for fire doors are hydraulic door top springs and single tube spring hinges with one-way opening. It cannot be ignored that this type of automatic door closer should not be mistakenly installed on the side near the aisle (fire surface) to avoid being damaged by high temperatures in case of a fire. Normally, it is important to ensure sensitivity and effectiveness. Once damaged, it should be replaced promptly.
2. Fire doors that are usually in an open state must be equipped with fixed devices for easy passage. Generally, there is an electromagnetic release switch or a melting alloy door fixed on both walls. In case of a fire, the door will automatically close under the action of a spring when it loses power and magnetism (or when it is energized and magnetized, the lock tongue will be pulled open) or when the melting alloy is burned. It is worth noting that hooks or door clips cannot be used to fix the door. In case of a fire, panicked personnel will not close the door and may easily enter the smoke and fire, thereby causing the corridors and stairwells to lose their safe evacuation function.
3. The fire doors in stairwells designed for evacuation are often locked during use to prevent theft. To solve the problem of both fire prevention and theft prevention, electromagnetic door locks can be used: personnel in this building can enter with a key, and in case of a fire, the circuit is connected through the linkage of smoke detectors or remote control from the fire control room. The lock tongue retracts under the action of magnetic force, and the door can be pushed open. Alternatively, a simple mechanical push bar door lock can be installed, which can be opened at any time with just one push. When a person leaves, the rear door will rebound and close. If entering from outside, a key is required to unlock it, thus preventing the perpetrator from entering the building.
4. Some double leaf fire doors have bite marks for sealing, and if they are turned upside down when closed, they cannot be tightly closed. Therefore, a sequencer must be installed to control the steps before and after the door is closed.
5. If the handle of a fire door needs to be manually turned to open, it may not be able to open due to being burned during a fire. It is advisable to use a push rod door lock for this purpose, which can be opened by simply pushing or squeezing with your body.
6. To prevent carpets or indoor furnishings from getting stuck in fire doors, ensure that they quickly open and close in case of a fire.
